Marine Project Scientist
SUMMARY
This is a minimum four to six month post as senior scientist responsible for overseeing BCEC's scientific training and survey program. The successful candidate will be working closely with project partners and representing Blue Caribbean Environmental Conservation to continue to help develop and educate communities about conservation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

MSc qualification in a relevant field (BSc with relevant experience may be considered)

Tropical Marine Fieldwork experience

Excellent Written and Oral Communication and organizational skills

Must have proven practical management and leadership experience

Computer Literate

Must be a highly creative and motivated team player

Positive Attitude and Energy

**Scuba diving certification, minimum of PADI Advanced Open Water (AOW) or Equivalent
**If you are not scuba certified it's included with the expedition fees if needed
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Co-ordination of research including the management and guidance of Science and Education Officers as well as
volunteers
* Training volunteers through the Blue Caribbean Skills Development (SD)
* Planning strategies of research on a daily to six month basis, working closely with all other Blue Caribbean Officers
* Drafty of reports, monthly project updates for members and our project partners
* Maintenance of science equipment inventories and requesting re-supplies
* Meetings with in-country partners
* Representing Blue Caribbean Environmental Conservation at various committee meetings
* Providing environmental awareness lectures at local schools and institutes
* Supporting the Expedition Leader during expedition activities
