SUMMARY​

This is a four month minimum post, coordinating the scientific training of volunteers and daily survey activities on the BCEC Expedition Site. The successful candidate will be representing Blue Caribbean Environmental Conservation and working closely with Expedition Leader and Marine Project Scientist to continue to develop and educate communities about conservation.

​MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS​

 

  • Relevant degree in Marine Biology or similar

  • Marine/Science Fieldwork Experience

  • Current First Aid qualifications​

  • Must have some practical management and leadership experience

  • Must have good communication and organization skills

  • Computer Literate

  • Must be a highly creative and motivated team player

  • Professionalism and Work Ethic

  • Positive Attitude and Energy

  • **Scuba diving certification, minimum of PADI Advanced Open Water (AOW) or Equivalent Tropical 
    **
    If you are not scuba certified it's included with the expedition fees if needed

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES​​

* Teach two weeks science Skills Development to volunteers and scholars

* Supervise, in the absence of the Project Scientist, the day to day running of the Marine Survey Program

* Assist with community-based environmental education and awareness programs and outreach work

* Manage the input of baseline and other data and ensure quality control

* Assist with general base management responsibilities​
